About MICAFUNGIN SODIUM

Micafungin Sodium is an antifungal medication that belongs to the class of drugs known as echinocandins. It is used to treat a variety of fungal infections, including candidemia (a type of yeast infection in the blood), esophageal candidiasis (a fungal infection in the esophagus), and invasive aspergillosis (a fungal infection caused by the Aspergillus species).

Micafungin Sodium works by inhibiting the production of beta-glucan, which is a component of the fungal cell wall. This results in weakening of the fungal cell wall and eventually leads to its death.
